Understand your Readiness for Certification. Download the FREE Gap Assessment Workbook.

This Gap Assessment Workbook is intended to help your organization compare your current QMS to the AS9100 standard. This workbook will walk you through each requirement of the AS9100 standard and how to compare it to your current system.

AS9100

AS9100 is an international standard which defines additional aviation, space, and defense industry requirements within an aerospace quality management system that must be addressed when implementing an ISO 9001-based quality management system. ISO 9001 is a quality management system standard designed to provide all types of organizations with the tools necessary to improve performance and customer satisfaction. AS9100 Revision D, published September 2016, is the current revision of the standard.

All aerospace manufacturers and suppliers worldwide are encouraged to become certified to AS9100. AS9100 was developed for use by organizations that design, develop, or provide aviation, space, and defense products and services; and by organizations providing post-delivery activities, including the provision of maintenance, spare parts, or materials for their own products and services. Like ISO 9001, AS9100 is process-based and emphasizes satisfying internal, governmental and regulatory requirements.

AS9100 was prepared by the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) and certifications are administered by accredited management systems certification bodies like The Registrar Company.
